Lidl grocery store workers are on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic helping families get the food and supplies they need every day. Lidl needs to immediately provide premium crisis pay to the workers who are helping our communities.

We urge County Executive Curran and Sheriff Dzureda to step forward and publicly share a comprehensive plan for the jail. We also urge them to consider decreasing the population relating to non-violent and vulnerable people who can safely be released with a plan.

We are collectively urging Nassau County officials to take swift actions to protect marginalized populations as alarming statistics show the disproportionate impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on Long Island’s Black communities.
